Washington, DC – September 9, 2024 — The Alliance for Expanding America's Workforce (AEAW), an association dedicated to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities by modernizing the federal government’s procurement process, direct hiring practices, and policies, is proud to announce the addition of Bartholomew Devon, who will serve as its inaugural Executive Director.
Devon has spent years serving as a leading legislative advocate for Americans with disabilities, having worked at Autism Speaks, the National Down Syndrome Society, and most recently at Eggleston.
"It's an honor to join AEAW and serve as its first Executive Director," said Devon. "It's a privilege to work alongside self-advocates and allies, both from AEAW member organizations and from across the broader disability community. Together, we can improve employment opportunities and build a more inclusive future."
Devon’s experience advocating for strong policies to support people with disabilities at the state and federal levels will aid the Alliance for Expanding America's Workforce in its policy goals.
Working as a Senior Director of Government Relations at Eggleston, Devon has advocated for policies that support individuals with disabilities and help them gain independence through on-the-job training and stable work opportunities.
“AEAW is fortunate to have Mr. Devon join the organization in this capacity,” said Dwight Davis, President of AEAW and President of Global Connections to Employment (GCE). “His history of accomplishment and deep expertise in disability rights will be key to the Alliance as we look to advance policies that increase employment opportunities and rights for disabled people across the country.”
